
The Qatar Foundation Aquathlon Series
In conjunction with Qatar Foundation, TriClub Doha kicks off the eighth season of Qatar Foundation Aquathlon Series, on Friday, 28th of November 2020.
These aquathlons take place at the Qatar Foundation Education City Recreation Centre, using their 50m indoor pool for the swim leg, with the run course on closed-off internal roads in Education City. This series caters to all ages and levels, from the complete beginner finding their legs to more experienced athletes wanting to stretch themselves on the sprint course and is a great way to build up for triathlons.
2020 / 2021 Dates
- Saturday 28th November 2020 (Afternoon race, registration starting 1:30PM)
- Friday 19th February 2021 (Afternoon race, registration starting 1:30PM)
- Friday 2nd April 2021 (Afternoon race, registration starting 1:30PM)
Races normally take place on Friday afternoon aiming to finish by sunset. Check the Calendar for specific times

Adult Individual Distances
Super Sprint | 200m swim, 2.5km run |
Sprint | 500m swim, 5km run |
Kids and Junior Individual Distances
Mini-Kids (3-6) | 20-50m swim, 200m run (*not timed) |

At each race all participants receive a branded giveaway and a finishers medal. All finishers will be provided with refreshments at the finish line.

Chip Timing
The race is timed by the use of a mylaps prochip timing system. Event Only Members paying full price are provided a chip for the event, however a deposit of a Qatar ID or equivalent is needed at race registration. All Club Members, and those Event Only Members using their own timing chips, are responsible to make sure their chip is active on the day of the race. Details on how to check your chip's status can be found on our website mylaps timing chips. In the event that an owned chip's subscription has expired and is not working, chips may be rented on race day for QAR50, subject to availability.
Awards and Podium Presentation
For the moment, due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are no podium presentation allowed according to Qatar Foundation requirements. Medals may be collected following the event from the TriClub Doha. Winners will be contacted following completion of the event.
At the end of the race each, first three places for each sex are awarded winners medals at the podium for the following categories:
Individual Race Categories
Kids 1, Kids 2, Kids 3, Junior, Sprint – Open (18-39 years old), Sprint – Masters (40+ years) and Sprint – Qatari – Male, Super Sprint and Super Sprint – Qatari - Male
Team Relay Race Categories
Sprint, Primary Relay, Primary Secondary
Additionally, Gold medals are awarded to first place all-female relay teams in each category. In the event that the all-female is one the podium, the fourth placed team will be upgraded to the podium
2020-2021 Qatar Foundation Aquathlon Series Awards
Club members participating in the individual distances are eligible to participate in the Qatar Foundation Aquathlon Series Award for the season. To be eligible, participants must complete 3 out of 4 races. Points are awarded based on the position in the race age group; 50 points for 1st place, 49 points for 2nd place, and so on with a minimum of 10 points for competing in the race in each age group. Super Sprint races are awarded starting at 40 points. To be eligible, Club members are required to volunteer at one TriClub Doha event at QF per year. Parents may volunteer in place for Juniors. TriClub Doha relies upon the help of volunteers for our events to run smoothly. All our members, or parents of Junior members, are expected to volunteer to assist at least one event per season.
