Qatar Foundation and TriClub Doha bring you the Education City Triathlon. Centred around the Qatar Academy Primary Carpark at Education City, using the Recreation Centre 50m indoor pool for the swim, with the bike and run course on closed-off internal roads. This triathlon caters to all ages and levels of triathletes, from the complete beginner finding their legs to more experienced triathlete wanting to stretch themselves on the sprint course.
With a range of distances to choose from; the option to compete as a relay; a Beginners category and a fun race for the under sevens, the Education City Triathlon has something for everyone. Commemorative medal awarded to all finishers and podium presentation to the top 3 in each category. Relay teams comprise 2 or 3 competitors of any gender aged twelve and over. Yes. Both men and women can take part and will start at the same time. In previous editions we have organised a separate women-only start in order that only women are in the pool while swimming; however the rest of the venue is mixed. Please contact us if a women-only start is something which would enable you to participate.
The minimum recommended age is 7 years. Participants must be able to complete the course safely, including swimming 100m without stopping. If you feel that your child is capable and will enjoy the challenge then we may allow them to compete in the 7-9 age category. We will stop an underage child from racing if they are causing potential danger to themselves and other participants. Younger children can take part in the mini-kids aquathlon.
